Hysterectomy
A hysterectomy is an operation in which the uterus is removed completely in order to treat conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, or uterine cancer. Women who have their uterus removed are no longer able to become pregnant.
Performing a minimally invasive hysterectomy involves using a laparoscopic or vaginal route. This can include the use of the da Vinci Robotic system. Every effort is made to use a minimally invasive technique, as it allows for a faster recovery, less pain, less infection, less blood loss and a shorter hospital stay.
Make sure to discuss your options with your physician.
