Painful and/or Irregular Periods
Vaginal bleeding is usually caused by menstruation. However, any vaginal bleeding that is not normal menstrual bleeding, and severe pain that may accompany your menstrual cycle may be abnormal and should be diagnosed by your doctor. Our staff will look for signs of problems within the vagina, uterus, and/or ovaries.
Our health care professionals may prescribe medications or recommend different procedures, such as hysteroscopy or endometrial ablation. Hysteroscopy is a minimally-invasive surgical technique that involves placing a small scope through the vagina, cervix, and into the uterus in order to diagnose structural problems such as polyps, fibroids, or cancer. Endometrial Ablation is an outpatient procedure that treat your uterine lining, diminishing or stopping your period altogether and eliminating the need for a hysterectomy.
